Edinger Green - What is it?

Edinger Sports, in cooperation with Bakk. Nina Weiglhofer from Greenolutions, has initiated a company-wide process designed to prepare the business for the future in all areas of responsible corporate management. The following goals have been specifically defined:

• CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility - the company's social responsibility toward the community) & sustainability
• Our values regarding our business activities, both internally & externally
• Ecology, economics and social affairs/community

Why does Edinger Green exist?

• Retail, and the outdoor industry in particular, is facing profound changes: global supply-chain problems, uncertainty in the energy sector and general resource shortages in sensitive areas such as the production of e-bike batteries mean that, wherever currently possible, we want to focus more strongly as a company on regional economic cycles.

We place particular emphasis on the production sites and material selection of our textile partners in the outdoor sector. Are recycled materials used? Are repairs possible in the long term, thereby extending the product's service life? Where is the production site located? Is short-term stock availability possible due to short delivery routes? Is the product suitable for rental?

• We ask ourselves: What can we as a company do to support and shape our environment positively? How do we want to treat our employees and customers in our daily working lives? With respect and inclusively! We are fully committed to family-friendly working conditions, reflected in particular flexibility regarding working hours and vacation times.

• Further strengthening of sports equipment rental (skiing & cycling, etc.). Producing sports equipment consumes resources. If this equipment is used by as many people as possible over the course of its service life, we minimize its ecological footprint. This is sustainability in practice and one of our central contributions to improving resource and energy scarcity.

How does Edinger Green work?

• Specifically, in purchasing management we ask ourselves: Is this product and the story behind its production meaningful & compatible with our philosophy?
• Avoiding plastic items such as shopping bags or price bands
• Using environmentally friendly & biodegradable workshop materials in the bike and ski service departments
• Focusing on the quality of the working environment: air, noise, work processes, job rotation, etc.
• Working-time management tailored to family circumstances and personal needs
• Integrating Edinger Health – the health and fitness program for employees at Edinger Sports
• Further strengthening sports equipment rental in summer & winter

What is the goal of Edinger Green?

• In everyday life, Edinger Green means doing good. Edinger Sports is committed to a service-oriented role as a provider of sports services. We do everything we can to achieve this goal – from carefully purchasing sustainably produced goods and using environmentally friendly workshop materials to introducing new, life-oriented working-time models – we call this the “Work-Ride-Life Balance”
• We want to retain our employees over the long term and welcome long-standing regular customers to our company.
• We want to clearly define the values our company stands for and put them into practice every day. This is an ongoing process that is continually adapted. This enables us to respond to current developments and act instead of reacting.
